Password generator

Choose the length and the characters, and copy a strong password made in your browser.

·
Length16

Made in your browser. It is never sent or saved.

How to make a strong password

Pick the length and which characters to use and press the button. A longer password with more kinds of characters is much harder to guess: 16 characters mixing upper and lower case, numbers and symbols is a good minimum. The meter shows the strength in bits of entropy.

Private by design

The password is created in your own browser with its cryptographic random generator. It is never sent to a server, never saved, and it disappears when you close the page.

Tips

Use a different password for every site and keep them in a password manager. Turn on two-step verification wherever you can. Avoid look-alikes if you will need to type the password by hand.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to make a password on a website?

Here, yes: the password is made in your browser and nothing is sent or saved. You can even disconnect from the internet and it keeps working.

How long should a password be?

At least 12 characters, and 16 or more for important accounts like email or banking.
