How to play

Choose rock, paper or scissors. Both hands shake three times, like counting "rock, paper, scissors" out loud, and then show their move. Rock crushes scissors, scissors cut paper, and paper covers rock. Same move is a tie.

The computer does not cheat

The computer's move is drawn with your browser's cryptographic random generator at the same moment you choose, and it never looks at your move. Each of its three options has exactly a one in three chance.

A bit of strategy

Against people, there are patterns: many players open with rock, and after losing they often switch to the move that would have beaten them. Against a truly random opponent no strategy helps; in the long run you will win, lose and tie about a third of the time each.

Frequently asked questions

Can the computer see my choice?
